About the Gallery
Mudgee Arts Precinct is Australia’s newest regional art gallery which opened its doors to the public in August 2021 with Mudgee-born artist Guido Maestri’s exhibition ‘Stories from Homedale’.
The Mid-Western Regional Council received funding from Create NSW and the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund for the construction of a purpose-built gallery and hub to promote, nurture and facilitate participation in cultural activities.
Programming Strengths
The $8.4million facility will showcase a diverse program that reflects a commitment to our local artists and community as well as the 700,000 annual visitors to the region.
We will present predominantly new works created specifically for the state-of-the-art gallery space and pay overdue acknowledgment to our Wiradjuri artists and their stories. Mudgee Arts Precinct will also provide an innovative digital platform to provide stimulating educational experiences for our visitors.
